Their primary need is for counselors. They are looking for approximately 250 volunteers to be Operation Trackshoes counsellors. An OT counsellor is assigned to one or more competitors and provides friendship and guidance in very much the same way as a camp counsellor would. They provide all the necessary training - no special skills are needed. They always have a competitor wait list so your participation will mean that at least one additional person will be able to come to OT.

The 75th Swiftsure International Yacht Race Week occurs May 24-28, 2018. Swiftsure relies upon volunteers for the success of the race and volunteering is a great way to be a part of an historic Victoria event while meeting others involved in the race.
All volunteers require a basic knowledge of the Swiftsure event; orientation will be available prior to Swiftsure and participation is required. Dates will be posted on the Swiftsure website and registered volunteers will be notified. You will meet the Volunteer Coordinator at the orientation and receive a coupon for your volunteer tee-shirt.
Join the Swiftsure team and share your valuable skills. You will be asked to select your areas of interest as part of the registration process.
Volunteer placement for most positions is completed in April. For volunteers selected to a role, team leads may wish to confirm certifications; please have them available for review.
The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea is seeking a Volunteer Naturalist!
Join our team of dedicated volunteers and have some fun down near the water in Sidney.
Greet our visitors and help them explore the habitats and marine life of the Salish Sea. ** Don't worry; you don't need to be an expert. We provide the training you need to answer questions about our marine life. It’s the knowledge and friendliness of our volunteers that inspire our visitors to return again and again.
We require a minimum commitment of 60 hours as the training is quite extensive, working a minimum of 5 hours per month. Each shift is 2.5 hours and includes a short enrichment/briefing session so you can learn something new, or update your knowledge on our animals and their habitats.
English Language Comprehension: Working proficiency is required.
Learn about the Salish Sea bio-region and conservation. We provide the training.
